The vow of silence, that’s the mind-blower. See, talking is what I do… i t’s a real need with me, a craving, I’m like a word junkie. I never shut up. I talk to myself, I talk in my sleep. No churning, no flowing, no white water, just stillness, crushing stillness. I don’t think I could stand it, locked up like that in my own psyche. I’d collapse into myself, I’d implode.

Everyone always asks, was he mad at you for writing the book? and I have to say, Yes, yes, he was. He still is. It is one of the most fascinating things to me about the whole episode: he cheated on me, and then got to behave as if he was the one who had been wronged because I wrote about it! I mean, it’s not as if I wasn’t a writer. It’s not as if I hadn’t often written about myself. I’d even written about him. What did he think was going to happen? GLASS TABLE:
~Bckpakr: Excerpt from: Trip to Greece
When I was younger, I left home and spent about 15 years hitch-hiking
and back-packing across Europe, sleeping on beaches and finding jobs around the coastlines and in resorts, and when I felt like moving on, I did so.
I thought about returning home from my travels, and remember once doing so.
But when I got there, the house was locked up and when I looked through the letterbox in the door, I saw the house was empty and it echoed when I called through the door, then I felt really alone and that I had no family anymore.
My mother had moved to Canada so, with no home to come to, I turned around and went back out to travelling and looking for where life might take me.
There were new horizons to look for, and not looking back, is the best motivation for moving forward, of all!
Hitch-hiking from London to Brindisi, the Italian coastal port-city from which you take a ferry to Greece, if you traveled successfully through the night non-stop, would take you about 3 days!
And that’s what I would do, travel for however many days it took without sleeping to get to my destination, and then when I arrived – would crash on the beach for 14 or 15 hours, until I felt better.

that every place I’ve been
had the most beautiful clouds

a chance to divert
slide offstage
the dance to escape
bid a sly adieu
a little soft shoe
the one to use

spark of intention
then voice, noise of creation
as it’s ever been with words
~
there is no silence
like never was/never will
love interjected
~
the secret is out
trust and belief meant nothing
your silence fiction

book on the table

for the audition
music or silence or noise
and I chose all three
