Quoted in the Grove:
Gather ye rosebuds while ye may, old Time is still a-flying.
And this same flower that smiles today, tomorrow will be dying.
~Robert Herrick
You have to say, I will wither if I don’t do it, I’ll die if I don’t do it. It has to be that big of a determination, that much of a need.
~Joan Chen
When you have a dream you’ve got to grab it and never let go.
~Carol Burnett
EndQuote:
There comes a time in a man’s life when to get where he has to go – if there are no doors or windows, he walks through a wall.
~Bernard Malamud

Prewritten: Two of Three: forage, petition, clandestine
~Piffin: “Lavender”
Through prayer now, I forage
Adrift in this moorage
Celestials
Dance brightly to the call
Of humble petition
To change my condition
From vacancy
To climbing up the wall
Juggling life with blurry hands
None free to hold a drink
I toss a coin
Before it lands
There’s just one thought I think:
Will life be baby blue
Or petal pink?

~Greymane: Saturday
It came without a warning on a morning like the rest
We almost thought the devil wouldn’t show
Coastal states were sinking while the ocean took the west
and they crumbled from the rumble down below
The Antichrist was dancing on the tail of the beast
amused by all the chaos there would be
Trumpets singing sorrows on the tabernacle feast
in a symphony of cold clandestiny
The planet in the burning sky that tore at fearful Earth
Gilded flaming ignorance with chains
The virgin clothed in Sun upon the Moon has given birth
as we forage for a bit of what remains

09.14.17 ~ collide, surrender
~Greymane: Prewritten XVI
Rider on a pale horse
A raven in the night
Hooves across a battered bridge that chase the fading light
A golden beam illuminating
Chasing as they ride
They’re closer to surrender at the edge where they collide
Enlightening the paths ahead with Darkness close behind
The Light discovered shadows grow no matter how he shined
Becoming one another where they start to interweave
the Darkness found that shadows die when light decides to leave
They realized resulting from what keeps them both alive
depended on assuring that the other would survive
If one consumed the other then they both would disappear
They agreed to chase each other for another billion years
