Quoted in the Grove:
Partisanship is our great curse. We too readily assume that everything has two sides and that it is our duty to be on one or the other.
~James Harvey Robinson
Most of our so-called reasoning consists in finding arguments for going on believing as we already do.
~James Harvey Robinson
We are incredibly heedless in the formation of our beliefs, but find ourselves filled with an illicit passion for them when anyone proposed to rob us of their companionship.
~James Harvey Robinson
EndQuote:
I played Baby New Year. When everybody started hollering and throwing confetti, I thought it was for me.

Prewritten for Thurs (06/15) @6pm PT/9 ET – a theme: ethereal mathematics
~~
@Writers Platform:
Prewritten: bartender, race riot
~Greymane: One More for the Road
“Gimme another one just like the first.”
said the man with the broken cigar
He emptied his glass with unquenchable thirst
as he snuffed the butt out on the bar
The bartender grimaced but gave him his shot
convinced he should give him his space
He served them all quietly, like it or not
The bar wasn’t even his place
The man started grumbling out of control
ranting his hate for mankind
He swore the elite had all bartered their souls
with no repercussions in mind
He said they manipulate every day life
all perched on their glistening thrones
“They stole it away like a thief in the night
and left us with nothing but bones”
“… Illuminate bankers financing the wars
to keep dark agendas afloat
Chaining our progress and locking up doors
with all the false laws that they wrote?
He went on and on as he emptied his glass
each time that the bartender poured …
“… Jihadical terrorists flying first class
whenever they climb Allah bored..?
“They’re herding up sheeple in wieldy crowds
by pulling our puppety strings”
“They’re dumbing us down with their poisonous clouds
and controlling the men they made kings”
Inciting unrest with their race riot math
they’re intent on our fateful defeat”
“Building up walls and confusing our paths
for united we’re harder to beat”
…
The rest of the night ’til the whiskey was gone
not a pleasantry ever was said
The bartender ended his rambling on
and shot his drunk boss in the head
He stood there in silence and utter disgust
How could he have found himself here?
He prayed to forget all the drivel discussed
but some things you just can’t unhear

Last week (06.01) a pic
https://ishtari.arcticworlds3d.com/prompts/hideyhand.jpg
~Greymane: Vacant
He runs away from every day before it can begin
He travels unfamiliar roads to get to where he’s been
He tries to find some comfort in the things he understands
He hides behind a mask that he has painted on his hands
His motives live in shadows that are hidden by the sun
He calls himself a savior but he’s just a hired gun
Beneath the weight of promises he swears he can’t ignore
He finds his dark sadistic soul in pieces on the floor
Intentions not withstanding when his bullet finds it’s mark
He smiles cold and vacant slipping back into the dark
