Quoted in the Grove:
My soul, be satisfied with flowers,
With fruit, with weeds even; but gather them
In the one garden you may call your own.
~Cyrano de Bergerac
One writes to make a home for oneself, on paper, in time and in others’ minds. ~Alfred Kazin
Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.

Impromptu: abomination, blink
~Greenie: Scampering
Scampering abomination
blinking big eyes at me
twisting flipping and turning
making me laugh with glee
Giggling gaily with friends
sitting out on the deck
talking gabbing and thinking
laughing at the dragon Shrek
~
MissMerry: MM Impromptu
looking through the hedges
for anyone around
slid into the garden
keeping close down to the ground
Seeing no one else in residence
she gives a grateful sigh
Enjoys the peace and quiet
– so proud she was so sly
The garden wall tap
a little hard to turn
the first brown water flowed with force
and hot enough to burn
Then blissful cool,
it cleared, was clean
and ran without restraint
and no one near to give complaint
a clear puddle formed on the patio
her face stared back a mess
A blink, a stare…
Who’s that person there?
must be myself, I guess.
Some sad abomination
left the eyes so old and shy.
But reflected behind that strangers face,
was an infinite depth of sky.
White clouds, blue sky and air.
No matter how her sandal splashed
or how long she rinsed her hair
whenever she looked down
at up
the sky was always there.
