Quoted in the Grove:
Words ought to be a little wild, for they are the assault of thoughts on the unthinking.
~John Maynard Keynes
The books that the world calls immoral are the books that show the world its own shame.
~Oscar Wilde
Writing a novel is a terrible experience, during which the hair often falls out and the teeth decay. I’m always irritated by people who imply that writing fiction is an escape from reality. It is a plunge into reality and it’s very shocking to the system.
~Flannery O’Connor

MissMerry
Catching up with old friends… enjoyed our time together, but now it is nice to have my peace and quiet intact again.
Funny how they remember things that I do not, and vice-versa. It is fun to see things from others’ point of view. The corridors of our high school saw some insane things back when… How sad that I spent so much time and energy worrying about things that were, and are, so meaningless.
The tiny red and white sphere bobbles up and down in the water. Now this has meaning!

~BarTalk:
Cupid’s Holiday
I dread the jolly atmosphere
of ‘give me’ and ‘I want a …’
I face the holidays in utmost fear
more than dear old Santa
I spread the season’s joy
like legs of wine on crystal
I join up every girl and boy
and need no threat of pistol
I thread their hearts with arrows
who enter the season with relish
I unite the parts willing to go
down the corridor labled Hell-ish

Metal tests mettle

BarTalk: not-a-haiku
