Quoted in the Grove:
The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.
~Alvin Toffler
Those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.
~George Bernard Shaw
Progress might have been all right once, but it has gone on too long.

Posted from the Grove:
Thanksgiving was quiet in the grove, and little got done but hours of chat. Talk ranged from gossip to bored games and casino ware. There may have been the question raised of Wordgrove’s writing contest resuming in Jan, yes or no. Good question. Current thinking is favorable to bringing back the Wordgrove Prize, but yes or no remains the question
Time consumed in making it happen subtracts directly from this editor’s personal work :: this little contest has produced remarkable work of its own. How does a word lover turn away from that? If time opens up and a topic of sufficient interest suggests itself, look for news of it in the Post & Review

Regrettably, the link to last week’s Spoonerism special was active only to registered members of Wordsmith’s, a.word.a.day. If first-rate wordplay is a favorite laugh, these are too good to miss
