Quoted in the Grove:
Faith is rather like a rhinoceros, in fact: it won’t do much in the way of real work for you, and yet at close quarters it will make spectacular claims upon your attention.
~Sam Harris
Faith is the daring of the soul to go farther than it can see.
~William Newton Clarke
Writing is an act of faith, not a trick of grammar.
~E B White
End Quote by ~Thomas Hardy
Well, World, you have kept faith with me,
Kept faith with me;
Upon the whole you have proved to be
Much as you said you were.

It started with Greymane’s poem. Good enough that it must stand on its own, beyond condensing, beyond review. The only justice would be to publish it. Then Piffin’s poem insisted the same, distillation being impossible in good poetry. Then Jessalee’s poem and TommyO’s story, all demanding to be read in the original. An embarrassment of riches. There is room for one haiku by Stejovis. Otherwise, this recommendation: Hotfoot it over to WG’s Platform, grab a few from the Prewritten and Impromptu benches, take the easy chair and enjoy your reads. Seriously

A journey only possible with the pain reined in; then insight from a light, a voice reminding, you’ve always had the key

Love that sacrifices receives love in return; there are sides to the equation not answerable to rules, but there’s a pull to love that people want to obey
~Piffin: “Tadpole” ~ Frog Prince in-waiting
~TommyO: A Dark Place
Solitary confinement: how rules change and how the mind bends to the hammer of loneliness in a society of one; believable pain as a character
Stejovis: first of three haiku (qif)
an open padlock –
the lilt of a chorus
beside the pond
~BarTalk: make me

~Jessalee @The Nut’s Hut: Vid Places used in There
There.com is old enough now to have developed traditions and stories around its permanent sites. Tho less pliable and plastic than other worlds online, the durability of There’s landscape allows legends to develop and take on life. Real life. With their buildings and gardens, designs and constructions, people come and go … but the land remains. There endures
Perhaps it was the landscape itself that dictated the characters and storyline, but Jessa gave herself up to this feature of pixel permanence and let the story thru. She created a short video of the places used in her book’s creation, a story of generations and migration. It’s worth a visit
