Morning is more refreshing waking as the alien in a new world. Locals may experience their home more richly, more intimately, and at levels not available to the newcomer, but they will never see it new again. That advantage goes to the traveler.
For a traveler on the roam, it’s waking to odd new bird calls, curious aromas, novel spices in the cooking, new expectations of the clock. There’s a whole new texture to everything, a new weave to life that’s both fascinating and teeth-gritting. Liberating is a word that comes to mind. Fewer needs is a good phrase to get used to. Eye widening colors, different skyline, curious flora and fauna, bigger bugs; it all gives a body good reasons to pause
Most short-comings in the experience have turned out to be this editor’s fault, but Outlook has not been the emailer’s friend of late. One of the real losses was missing the St Paddy’s Day issue of the Post & Review.
