Quoted in the Grove:

I think on-stage nudity is disgusting, shameful and damaging to all things American. But if I were 22 with a great body, it would be artistic, tasteful, patriotic and a progressive religious experience.
~Shelley Winters

Naked is our natural state, and I loved sharing my nakedness with the world! I think that every woman should embrace the freedom and power of capturing herself in Goddess mode. To me, a body is a divine thing, and it has been a pleasure sharing my most intimate side.
~Erica The Kiwi

Why be given a body if you have to keep it shut up in a case like a rare fiddle?
~Katherine Mansfield

Posted from the Grove:

Members from Wordgrove’s first iteration may recognize quotes from our first newsletter, This Week @Wordgrove. Such is the case with this edition of the Post & Review. As much as possible, refurbished sets have at least one quote improved from the original. Sometimes new-found quotes fulfill the theme’s mission better. Sometimes an individual quote slots in beautifully in several sets. However well it succeeds, the goal as always, the frisson of a dawning insight. Themes are often culled from the week’s chats, or in response to a new work found in Wordgrove

A reminder. The current edition of the Wordgrove Post & Review is also available in a Book on Writers Platform. This online edition may sometimes be improved by subsequent edits

Since two of this week’s postings on the platform deal openly with their love, the time seems right for featuring a previous video suggestion: Same Love, by Macklemore

Prewritten: morass, corduroy

~AidenScott:  corduroy, morass (04.25)
The great blue mystery embodied as a diaphanous indestructible veil; a bitter loss in the battle for self, the ending of a war between indifference and love; unflattering portrait of love as the foe, the receding image of his better angel Michael
Favorite line: Beauty is such a delicious sin.

~BarTalk: Crimes Against Language

~

Impromptu: medieval, statue

~Aiden: Full Moon
To dance with Midnight and be taught by the Moon, do a shimmer-step breaking thru the leaves; ah, but comes the dawn then a change of habit; trust the Sun to bless his tryst on a daybed with her brother

Favorite line, in his postscript to Jessa: Macaroon? Really? Wtf!

~Piffin:  .Buzz.
The magic of technology comes to sex; again; phone call with a personal touch, the passion clutch and kissing in the rain

~Aluria: Medieval Statue
Medieval, emphasis on evil; discovered or imagined, history doesn’t flinch; flawed and fatally cast, a statue worthy of the cooing bombardier of shit

~Stejovis: My Hero
Praise for the everyday everyman who, in spite of everything, is given the gift of faith; but woe to sage uncertainty and the wisdom unable to believe

Writers in Residence:  No rounds of the grove this week.  Please remind this editor if you have dropped new work recently, or intend to. Work from Thurs Word Games produced during summer hiatus (begins early June) will provide fresh fodder for this section when the Post & Review resumes in Sept. Occasional Guest Editors will continue to provide a little dash for your summer Sunday afternoon
