Quoted in the Grove:

Back of every creation, supporting it like an arch, is faith. Enthusiasm is nothing: it comes and goes. But if one believes, then miracles occur.      ~Henry Miller

Faith is a cop-out. If the only way you can accept an assertion is by faith, then you are conceding that it can’t be taken on its own merits. ~Dan Barker

The obstacle is the path. ~Zen Proverb

Prewritten for Thurs (11/15) at 5 pm Pacific/8 Eastern is: horizon

First, a personal thank you to Greenie for editing last week’s Post & Review, and for matching her offer to the very week the office computer tendered its resignation. Greenie’s timing also led to the discovery that There loads and lags on a netbook, but it works. Who knew?

This week’s video is an old favorite and is dedicated to those who still endure the effects of Storm Sandy, the nor’easter that followed, or anyone feeling blue and left out at the moment. Musicians from around the world come together to say you’re not alone

The Glass Library Table:                                                                            ~Greenie: Disappearing into You ~Raphael – Where piano strings are the sinews of being, eight minutes of serenity are Greenie’s gift this week; link provided

Prewritten: speechless, joke

~Stejovis: Unexpected Delight – A beast enters the arena, his family scatters before him, he advances on the surround of his audience loaded for attack; the great bull elephant raises his trunk to drench them with his foul slimy water, they scatter like chickens, he blows air and puffs of dust instead; they return to their places by the fence looking sheepish and chastened, the elephant seems to … laugh

~Piffin: .Sandy. – God’s cruel joke or mere irony that those swept to sea by Storm Sandy were the same swept away by their dreams of beach life

~

Impromptu: frontier, amplify

~Piffin: .Return to Bliss. – The outside world spools out in words and thoughts shared; the world of love plays out on a linen stage

~Jessalee: frontier – Prairie fields and cattle lowing in the blue moonlight; the last untouched moment before the homestead stirs awake

Stejovis: The Experience of Anu – Spread beneath the stars and the sky god, Anu, the sacred mountain tops that mediate between the mundane world below and the Presence above, say of life: live the privilege and be grateful

Writers in Residence:

~Jessalee @Creative Intentions: Unusual Weapon – When an actor responds to betrayal, expect drama; with drama, expect the bane of unintended consequences

~Greymane @Greyed Expectations 2: ~4~ of 6 – The Abyss that calls to the hopeless has another writer, toes at the edge, listening … but the call of dawn is stronger

Whitefeather @Dreaming Tree: Mist Haven – A young couple whispering in hushed tones, their new manse, a garden bench and an old oak become, decades later: the burned out shell of a home, a broken bench, an ancient oak and a young couple whispering intimately together before dissolving into mist

~Piffin @Cinderella Sneakers: If that chick don’t wanna know, forget her… – Lost souls, outcasts and prodigal daughters inhabit caves of the City, watch with undimmed eyes from the darkness, and build new things from the broken parts

Quoted in the Grove:
“Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” ~Dr. Seuss

“I’m selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can’t handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don’t deserve me at my best.” ~Marilyn Monroe

“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken. ~Oscar Wilde

Arriving late, I missed whatever folly found itself in our grove Thursday past before we were set to our 30 minute Impromptu pieces.

The tide has gone out, taking with it VirtualJester’s ‘The Thought Tree’ build.

To the north, thx brings us a Kilroy of greetings sprinkled with vibrant flowers and a welcoming bench ‘neath a shading of trees.

The ever changing of our Grove is one of our constants.

Library Table: No new drops

No new offers on the Prewritten bench. Perhaps it waits for you.

This week’s words for Word Games (11/4) are: speechless, joke.

Impromptu: Bad Hair Day
~Stejovis: A play on words on the bindings of two Haiku and Four Doggerel Quatrains in Trochaic Tetrameter (If you can say that three times fast you’ve earned a boon!!) Of rabbits and brows, bounds and perspiration, the formula brews up some fun. Fluff it all with some ruffled feathers and we’ve quite the mix of a Bad Hair Day.

~Jessalee: We are transported into the heavy competition of the elite. Dogs that is 😉  Painstaking care and nail-biting waits, culminates in a shih tzu of a ruined hairdo, or two.

~AidenScott: Fixation breeds…fixation. A momentary lapse in the freedom that can only be found in nature, and the tormenting imprisonment of sameness and routine, trapped in our own blinded mirror.

~BarTalk: Choices. So much in such a simple word. A world of difference in a single choice. Do we reflect those around us or are we reflected in them? An eternity of ‘bad hair days’ plays out from one clear cut choice.

~Greenie: More than a storm brews here. Locks that have a life of their own, swirl and curl, and bind the two as one.

Writers in Residence:
~Gate; Brought to us by Kangaroo- Where we all become both past and future.

~Whitefeather: “I’d give up forever to touch you”
A small collection on yearnings. Drawing from deeply within my being. Heated tears, well…

~Stejovis: For Contemplation– Haiku, simple truths, beautiful in the sparsity of words.
Etudes– Fully formed images, painted with only a few strokes.

~GaryBob- Narcissus Moon– Transfixed and bedazzled, a young man loses more than foresight.

I lose time as I test time while I waste time at hand. A book in an hourglass keeps me just out of reach of the answers I sought at the Fortune Teller’s Table.
